Where can find free hearing aids?
I have an elderly patient that is having trouble hearing. He has expressed to me that he can not afford hearing aids with his financial budget. He is asking me if I can help him find free hearing aids. I know that there are charities, and community services out there, but I am having trouble locating them. I have even emailed the city, with no response. Can you help?
Do you think its weird for a 13 year old to have hearing aids?
im a 13 year old girl and my mom is deaf so i am kinda having hearing troubles im not deaf at all but my hearing is not 100 % so my mom is getting me hearing aids do you think its weird i mean its heling me alot but i dont wanna be like a freak just ell me your opinion.. its helping me alot but i dont wanna be known as the 13 year old with a hearing aid

Well I am partially deaf in both ears, and i have 2 hearing aids, one for each ear. I used to keep them in a case so they wouldn't fall out of my pocket or anything but then one day i fell and smashed it it saved me from scraping up my knee and so when i got home that day i asked my dad for a new one, but it cost 10$.... he complained that it cost to much since hes out of the job and going back to college and were living on one income. So today i put them in my pocket so that i could listen to music. One fell out at some point this morning and its gone. Now instead of being out 10$ for a stupid case, im out over 700$ for a frigging hearing aid. So NOW i gotta get a job and buy a new one myself. I was looking at this thing called Apli Ear, but i don't know if it would work well or not because its only $58.65 for 2. But it claims that they can sell it cheaper because they make it themselves, and to me it looks promising but I'm an amateur. so what do you guys think?website is here ampliear.com ampliear.html
Hearing aid, audiologist question.?
Is it normal for a hearing impared person to take a while to get used to the new sounds from a new hearing aid from what they had before? Do all people get used to the hearing aids after wearing them for a while? How long does it usually take to completely get used to them?
